Raider Wrestlers Perform Well at Region Tournament

The Walton Raider wrestling team competed in the Region 4AAAAAAA tournament on Saturday at Roswell High School with all nine wrestlers finishing in the top four in their weight classes to move on to the next round of the playoffs. Two wrestlers finished as region champions: Junior Ben Hardy at 113 and senior Devin Quinn at 152.

Cobb County Swim & Dive Championship Results

Both the girls and boys swim & dive teams finished the Cobb County Swim & Dive Championships with second place finishes behind the Lassiter Trojans last weekend at the Mountain View Aquatic Center. In the girls competition, the Lady Trojans outscored the Lady Raiders 715 to 585, while the Lassiter boys beat the Walton boys 531-456.

Swim & Dive Wins in Cobb Quads Meet

Both the boys and girls swim and dive teams won Division 1 of the Cobb Quads meet this past weekend at the Central Aquatic Center. Division 1 was comprised of the Harrison Hoyas, Lassiter Trojans, and Pope Greyhounds in addition to the Raiders, four of the most competitive swim and dive programs in the county.

Football Players Garner Postseason Awards

Several Walton Raider football players have picked up postseason awards for their stellar play during the season. Senior offensive lineman Blake Landon, sophomore wide receiver Dominick Blaylock, and sophomore linebacker Malik Adams were named first-team All-Region 4AAAAAAA by the region coaches, while senior quarterback Addison Shoup, senior defensive linemen Kamian Brooks and Matt Smith, and junior wide
