The Lady Raider track & field team completed its season with a stellar performance in the state meet at Berry College in Rome, scoring a school-record 56 points to finish 3rd. Senior Elasia Campbell led the way, finishing her high school career as a double state champion, winning the 100 hurdles in 14.03 and defending her title in the high jump by clearing 5’10”. Other top performers included senior Abigail Robertson, who finished 4th in the 1600 with a time of 5:02.39 and 6th in the 800 in 2:15.50; sophomore Sarah Burwell, who was 3rd in the 3200 in 11:03.85 and 6th in the 1600 in 5:07.32; sophomore Rachel Valentine, who was 3rd in the pole vault at 11’6″; and sophomore Amara Onyeukwu, who was 3rd in the 200 in 24.71. In addition, the 4 X 100 relay team of Campbell, Onyeukwu, junior Ashley Fairfax, and sophomore Dasia Gilyard finished 5th in 47.87; and the 4 X 400 relay team of Fairfax, Gilyard, Onyeukwu, and Robertson placed 6th in 3:55.99.
