Raiders News · Golf Teams Finish Strong…Matthew Feste is State Champion


The boys and girls golf teams competed in the state tournament this week, both finishing their seasons in the top 5 in the state.

The boys competed in the two-day event at Hamilton Mill, carding scores of 315 & 304 for a 619 total good for a runner-up finish as a team. They were led by junior Matthew Feste, who shot a 74 & 70 to finish as low medalist, or state champion, for the event. He was joined by sophomore Matthew Giesler, who shot 76 & 76 to finish 11th, sophomore Zach Vaniman, who shot 80 & 79 to finish 26th, senior Avery Arasin, who shot 85 & 79 to finish 40th, and sophomore Cole Michalek shot 86 & 83 to finish 52nd.

The girls played their two-day event at Chimney Oaks, finishing with scores of 262 & 239 for a 501 total and 5th place finish as a team. Sophomore MacKensie Kasetta shot 80 & 80 to finish 14th, senior Catarina Cutter shot 89 & 76 to finish 18th, freshman Katherine Euston shot 93 & 83 to finish 32nd, and junior Audrey Stasko shot 93 & 87 to place 35th.
