On August 31, Walton Volleyball celebrated Youth Night with a win for their young crowd. The evening started with the program’s middle school and elementary teams creating a tunnel for the varsity players to run out through. A few of the teams shagged balls during warm up. After cheering the varsity on to two set wins in a row, the eight girls middle school and elementary teams and their coaches were introduced to fans by announcer Jay Pember during the set break. Varsity went on to beat Alpharetta in three sets 26-24, 25-9, 25-16. Junior Gabby Gonzales lead the attack with 17 kills. Junior Riley Spurlin had 14. Junior Caroline Cheney had 43 assists for the match. On defense, Sophomore Madison Morey lead with 12 digs. Freshman Emery Dupes and Gabby Gonzales had 10 each. The JV also beat Alpharetta in two sets 26-24, 25-16. Next up, the varsity team plays Woodstock at home on September 6, then travels to Louisville for the weekend to compete in the Louisville Invitational.
